Terms of Service

This is a first draft, not final legal advice. It should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before being treated as your final, binding Terms of Service for public launch.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or otherwise using the Larnup platform (the "Service"), whether as a School, parent, student, teacher, staff member, or driver, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a School, you represent that you have the authority to bind that School to these terms.

2. Accounts

  • An account is tied to a phone number, unique per School, and is set up via one-time OTP verification followed by a password of your choosing.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account or entering student/school data.
  • Accounts may be locked after repeated failed login attempts, as a security measure.

3. Subscription and payment terms

Certain features are made available to parents through a paid platform subscription (Monthly, 6-Month, or 12-Month plans — see our Pricing page for current prices, inclusive of GST). By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following:

  • Payments are processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store your full payment card or bank account details.
  • Subscriptions are billed in advance for the selected period and do not automatically renew unless explicitly stated at the time of purchase.
  • GST-compliant invoices are generated for each successful subscription payment and are available for download in the app.
  • Refunds, where applicable, are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact support at rj.ramakant.sharma@gmail.com.
  • Separately, School fee payments made through the platform are owed to, and collected on behalf of, the School itself, not Larnup — those funds settle directly to the School's own account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to access another School's data, or another User's account or records, without authorization
  • Upload or transmit any content that is defamatory, harassing, obscene, or otherwise harmful, including through the in-app chat or notices features
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited communications or spam
  • Misrepresent your identity, role, or affiliation with a School

5. School and student data

Schools are responsible for the accuracy of student, staff, and fee data they enter into the platform, and for obtaining any necessary parental consent for their students' data to be processed through Larnup, consistent with our Privacy Policy. Larnup acts as a data processor on behalf of the School for this data, as described in that policy.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Larnup or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service — only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it as intended for your School's or your own account's purposes.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Features such as live bus tracking depend on device GPS accuracy, network connectivity, and driver device availability, and may not always reflect real-time conditions with perfect precision.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Larnup shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Larnup (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior, or if required by law. You (or your School) may stop using the Service, and request account/data deletion, at any time, subject to our data retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify Schools and Users directly. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [City, State — to be added].
