Delete your Larnup account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Larnup account and the personal data associated with it, as required under Google Play's Data Safety policy. It applies to parents, students, teachers, staff, and drivers using the Larnup app or web portal.

1. How to request deletion

Larnup does not currently have a self-service "Delete Account" button in the app. To request deletion, send an email requesting account deletion, and include:

Your full name
Your registered phone number (the one you use to log in)
Your school's name
Your role (parent, student, teacher, staff, or driver)

Note: the contact above is a personal/founder contact used temporarily for this launch — this inbox is real and actively monitored, it is just not yet a dedicated @larnup.com business address. It will be replaced with one once business email hosting is set up for this domain. See our Privacy Policy for the same note.

We will verify your identity against your registered phone number before processing any deletion request, and will confirm back to you once your request has been actioned. We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days.

2. What gets deleted

Your account credentials (phone number, password hash) and profile information
Your chat messages and notification history
GPS/bus-tracking trip history associated with you (as a driver or a parent viewing trips)
Device push-notification tokens

3. What is retained, and for how long

Some data cannot be deleted immediately, either because it belongs to your School's own administrative/academic records (attendance, exam results, homework, timetable — the School is the data controller for these, so requests affecting them may need to be routed through your School as well), or because we are legally required to retain it:

Financial and payment records (fee payments, subscription payments, GST invoices, Razorpay transaction records) are retained for 8 years after the transaction date, consistent with Indian tax record-keeping requirements, even after your account is otherwise deleted.
Data we are required to retain to resolve an active dispute, complaint, or legal obligation will be retained only until that matter is resolved.

Everything else is deleted or irreversibly anonymized within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days) of a verified deletion request.
